I just spent the last three weeks in Singapore and Australia. The Singapore thing was a brief four day holiday that I gave myself with much reluctance. I probably needed a break. Thanks me! It was nice to go to a completely foreign country and spend a few days by myself. I walked around, saw the sights, sat on the beach, got stared at and had countless Asian tourists requesting to have their photo taken with me. Apparently I’m a superstar in Singapore! From there I headed to Sydney Australia to see family and friends. I hadn’t been home for almost five years so the trip was well overdue. It was great to catch up with everyone and I wish I was able to stay longer. But work must be done...
Now that I’m back in LA I’m gradually regaining my focus. Melotia will be in the studio 3-4 nights a week starting next Monday or Tuesday. We’re done with shows for the year. We have a bunch of new songs in the works and over the next few months we will be focusing on writing and recording. The result will no doubt be a new full length album that will probably be released next year. During this time I will also be continuing the solo recordings. I posted Sunset 101 a few weeks ago and the response has been great. If you haven’t downloaded it yet hop to it because it is going to be undownloadable (is that a word?) in a couple of weeks. Click here to download it. I’m putting the finishing touches on a song called Leaving You and that will be posted next. If you don’t know how it works, when I post a new song the previous song is no longer downloadable.
Aside from the music I am also getting closer and closer to getting my book published. If you came in late, the book is called The Train Chronicles and is a journal-style book documenting my life from 2001 to 2004. I had hoped to get it out next month but that now looks like it is going to be delayed. Then again, you never know! I am now doing the final edit and with a bit of luck it’ll be out before the end of the year. If not, early in 2010 I promise! I was quite surprised by how many people in Australia asked me about the book. I guess people pay more attention that I thought. It’s reassuring to say the least. More from me later... Thanks for reading!
