25-JUL-2009 I had a pretty chill day today. I was up late last night recording the main vocals for my song Feeling Fear. I didn’t get to sleep until 6:00AM! That’s how it goes when I’m recording music. I get wrapped up in it and completely consumed with the process. Time becomes irrelevant. I’m pretty happy with the tracks. It took a few weeks to get back to it but I finally got the main vocals laid down. Now I just have to record some vocal harmonies and it’ll be done. As soon as it’s finished I will be uploading it to my website (www.ryandavid.com) for free download. It will be available for free download until the next song is up. Every time a new song is posted the old one will no longer be available for free download. I’m looking forward to getting it online and moving on to the next one. I have so many songs it is hard to decide which ones to record first. I have a pretty good idea of which one will be next. Things have been pretty chaotic and busy in the Melotia camp. We’ve been practicing 3-4 nights a week and we have two shows coming up in August – Saturday 1st August at Hero’s in Modesto and Thursday 6th of August at The Roxy in Hollywood. Preparations for these shows have been keeping us plenty busy. I’m expecting to have more time to record my solo music once we’re done with the Roxy show. During August Melotia will probably be in the studio working on more new songs. We have a few in the pipeline and we’re anxious to set aside time to work on them. Time for me to head to the studio!
