Happy 2009 to all. We've been a little quiet in the Melotia camp over the past few months so we figured it was about time to give you all an update. When our Summer Kamikaze Tour ended last July we made a decision to take a hiatus from touring to write and record some new material. After over a year of relentless touring it was time for us to focus on some new music. In September our good friend and honorable band mate Booker made the decision to move on to other things. His departure was completely amicable on both sides and Melotia wishes him all the best in the future. We were all friends before Melotia even existed and Booker will always be a friend to us. His contributions to the band and committment to our cause have helped us to get to where we are today. Considering our objectives and the material we've been writing, we've decided that Melotia will continue as a three piece.

In September and October we recorded 6 new songs. That collection of music is being released on 14th APRIL 2009 as an EP entitled Saving August Divine. A short video documenting the recording process and some of the laughs from these sessions is being edited and will be online in the coming weeks. For 2009 the writing and recording will continue. At this stage we're planning to record a plethora of material, the best of which will be collated and released as our next record. There is no deadline for this. We're also planning some more shows and you can expect to see tour dates starting around April. If we've played in your town and you want us back, send us a message and we'll do our best to make it happen.

You may also notice that we just posted some new photos. Yes, with the new year comes a new photo shoot. It's been a while! So we got together on a Friday night, had a few beers and took some snaps. Good times!!!

Last but not least there will be a couple more videos appearing over the next few weeks. The first of these is the long awaited Melotia In Motion :: Webisode #6. This documents touring from the first half of 2008. And last but not least, a short video entitled Webisode Shave. The fine folks in Richfield Utah will appreciate that one! So that's the update for now! Check out the links below.
